What program do you use for graphic design? What do you like/dislike about it?

I use Photoshop CS2, have been for about a year and a half now. I like it for lots of reasons, too many to list :P. There's nothing notable that i don't like about it.

What i don't get, is why everyone doesn't like the animation...they say it's too confusing, yet i self-taught myself how to use it in about 10 minutes when i first discovered the animation window in ImageReady.

I use a bunch of different programs primarily I use Photoshop CS2, Paint Shop Pro 9 (I hate corel and won't go to it  ) and Fireworks.

Photoshop because its the most advanced and allows me to do more with the image and has awesome plug ins for manipulating my images and stuff.

Paint Shop Pro because its easy and simple to understand I mostly use it for cropping and quick image manipulation (I learned everything on it before ever owning Photoshop so it comes easy to me.

Fireworks is my program for resizing images and in my opinion the best program available for the task especially for for thumbnailing large images. To me it does a better job than any of the others and gives a much smoother less pixelated image.

Then I have probably 10 to 20 other programs I use for different things or to get the effects I desire, listing them is kinda pointless though as they are just kinda a mood thing and their use is rare, if I can do it in one the above programs easily I'll just do it there rather than open a new program to do it. Almost every image I do runs through all three of teh above programs before I am done with it.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 is my all around image program. However, if some iamge needs some pixel work, I move to Paint.

The title sounds ambiguous, but after reading further I realised you guys are talking about Graphics-editing programs.

Well, I would definitely go for Photoshop, but GIMP will be my preferred choice since the former is not free.

I have the entire CS3 pack, but I can use certain ones because I only have 256MB of RAM. That means I have Fireworks CS3, Photoshop CS3 Extended, and Flash CS3.

Photoshop CS3 was a tad confusing for me at first because I was used to CS2, and a few things were moved. But yeah, I'm using CS3 now as well :)

PS CS3, It's really good to use and doesn't make you want to bang your head in frustration due to a lack of functionality :D

It's not usually free. And you'll have to be more specific (and post in the support forums I guess) :)

I use Photoshop CS3 but am planning to use GIMP & Inkscape for drawing from now on. Photoshop is nice, but open source just rocks

Assuming you're using Photoshop, then slice up the image the way you want to, then go "File -> Save For Web..." :)

Photoshop Creative Suite 3 ftw!

To me upgrading from CS2 seems a little pointless, the only changes effect profession top-end users, nothing the normal guy (like us) is gonna mess around with. Photoshop has always been the best and most complete imaging program.
