This seemed like the only way i could get in touch with the admin quicky. Right i have just installed a e107 system onto jarrowschool.ulmb.com/1/ but as you can see the css doesn't work properly on the left hand side (Which should be the login). The reason it is not there is because this host (Which by the way i love and have used for a couple of years). Anyways the point is there is only about 5 files that need uploaded without no extentions and 2 .htaccess files to make the headers work properly (I know it's weird it's what i thought). I don't suppose that just this once you could allow an exeption to these couple of files just to make this e107 system actually work please. Yours everlovingly n.wood. :)

your e107 works perfectly without those files

No it does not at all. Look, this is the host i have had to use to which i could actually upload the 2 .htdocs and the 4 without any extentions. This is the link http://nwood.freehostia.com/ . The host is absolutly terrible, it takes forever to actually load up and when it does. Only sometimes the css decides it doesn't want to load up... I really want to use this server as it is the best i have ever found so far...

Are you sure your using the same settings, the source does not appear the same, which means its not a CSS problem.
Files that start with a period will never be allowed no matter what.

You are wrongly assuming that just because those files didnt upload that somehow they are the cause of the problem when they are NOT.

The template you are using is not the same as your old host, it doesnt have the login box, its not an error.

I am not assuming, that is every file which is exacly the same as the one on http://nwood.********.com apart from those couple of files. I have uploaded the site twice, first time is on http://***********.co.nr/new/ and the second was http://*********.co.nr/1/ and nothing changed whatsoever. I know that the file works with them files and somehow without the logis just doesn't seem to appear.

when i used e107 for around 3 or 4 months it worked perfectly no matter what on this host

its odviously a template problem as the admins have said as theres no login box

There is more than the login box that does not appear because normally after you install a e107 system. I have just logged into the admin and went to change the menu and i saw this :

Menu removed - login_menu
Menu removed - online_menu
Menu removed - tree_menu
Menu removed - search_menu
Menu removed - userlanguage_menu
Menu removed - powered_by_menu
Menu removed - usertheme_menu
Menu removed - online_extended_menu
Menu removed - sitebutton_menu
Menu removed - other_news_menu
Menu removed - other_news2_menu
Menu removed - rss_menu

Wait so when you installed "e107" on here it didn't have the login box and all that on there? It should as I just installed it on a different server. So it's probably an issue here. A lot of scripts have a few issues here actually. Some you can live with, others you must choose something else to use...

Well wwe yes exacly the problem. I like this host though it's faster compared to others i have used, but i suppose what can i do. :(

Well I suppose you can live without them. You can still post news and what not on your site right? That's the main thing since it is a CMS lol

Well it's just that you can't do stuff like add a forum or accessorize the whole site. Basicly in my personal opinion a site sucks if it doesn't have a decent user managment system. Remember that the other host that i have the e107 system installed and running on sucks. It only decides to load up the css whenever it decides. :( :(

What's the site for e107, I'll try a clean install on here to see what I can find out, maybe you got a corrupted package or something get messed up, most scripts run fine on here, a few need to be slightly tweaked, but only a very very few (easily countable number) actually do not work.

http://e107.org/edownload.php <- That's the link and no i have not got a corrupted file because every other server i have uploaded it to, it has worked. I have uploaded every file the ulmb.com would let me twice and the same thing happened twice. Look http://jarrowschool.ulmb.com/1/ and http://jarrowschool.ulmb.com/new/ :( :( I don't really want to host the e107 on any other server (Most are slow and unsafe, This one isn't.). :(

Plus i get errors like this from other servers.:

e107 requires the realpath() function to be enabled and your host appears to have disabled it. This function is required for some important security checks and There is NO workaround. Please contact your host for more information

We do not disable realpath()

You need to contact e107, there are others using it here and it works just fine, its your configuration.

The clean install I said I'd do. Just installed it. Anything wrong with it or is it working, if it's working, you messed up. Login box is there.

Hey I was wondering why .htaccess files aren't allowed, I tried looking for the answer on google to see if they're any security risks or not but I could only find that they might help in learning things about the layout of your filesystem..

I'm asking because I think I could get atleast 40% more visitors to my site with .htaccess SEO stuff :(

Still for some reason once again when i click on the menu part in the controll panell it automaticly does: "Menu removed - rss_menu." (Which i am not really bothered about as long as i have the login system.
