Hello,

sorry to bother you guys,

I have set-up email forwarding and I receive this message back when testing:

Your message
Subject: "test"
could not be delivered to some or all of the intended recipients.

User<jose.perez@jpit.com> - (550 Dynamic Mailserver IP not allowed.)
User<jose.perez@jpit.co.uk> - (550 Dynamic Mailserver IP not allowed.)
User<jose.perez@jpit.co.nz> - (550 Dynamic Mailserver IP not allowed.)

The first one, for a reason, I cannot add the domain here ,regardless the name servers are pointing to ns1.unlimitedmb.com and ns2.unlimitedmb.com for more than 24 hours.

The other should work.

Any idea ?

thanks
Jose

What exactly are you doing to get that error?

Are you directly connecting to our mailserver from your home pc to send the mail?

The error is because whatever IP is trying to send that mail is a dynamic ip (like a DSL/Cable customer) and not a real mail server.

Hello,

I have received your reply so I guess this is coming from the mailbox at work I was trying with. Do you mean that the sender is using a Dynamic IP ?
Thanks
jose

All mail must be sent through a valid real mailserver.
The sender must send mail through his isp's or hosting companys mail server, and not try to connect to our server directly.
If a mail gets to us and its not coming from a mailserver we will refuse to accept it and give that error message.

The easiest way of describing this is when you post a letter you must drop it in the mailbox and let it be delivered, delivering it yourself is unacceptable.

This is to protect against spam sent by spyware on compomised home pc's.

All major mail servers such as aol, hotmail, yahoo, gmail use similar spam filtering, so its very important to use isp mailserver and not directly deliver yourself.

Hi Eric,
The mailbox I have used is the one at work. We are using an exchange server, but I am not sure how it delivers the mail outside. I 'll ask the question to the admin.

Thanks
jose

Just so you know...

The server you are forwarding to is not the problem.
The problem in the above email is the sender.

This is not a mail forwarding problem.

Thanks Eric,

I mentioned it to the Admin and he said he was going to check the dns or something like that. I am sure the forwarding works your end as when you reply on the forum, the mail goes to my inbox.

regards
Jose
