I have no idea... sometimes, the DNS fails, and you can't go to your domains or the forums, but you can go to your control panel. :S
Oh well, the owner should have it fixed soon, so we'll just have to wait it out.

I'm getting the same error...also on the home page the login and support links don't work.

Are there any admin around that can post a response so we know all is ok and it's just a temporary outage?

Cheers...Alkemist

There is a problem with the ulmb.com domain.
It likely wont be fixed for another 24 hours.

Anything on the ulmb.com domain will not work properly until the problem is fixed.

You guys switching bandwidth carriers or just registrars?

UnlimitedMB
10-25-2007, 10:51 PM
Its a problem with the registrar which we are waiting for them to fix it.
Its not caused by changing registrar, but we will be after this experience.

I have set it up so temporarily the control panel can be accessed at
http://account.com.net.sc/ but this was a quick modification so some things might not work properly.

The ulmb domain is working again for me.

Nope its still down, but i modified the dns TTL so the record wont expire for 7 days instead of the normal 12 hours but only applies for some people who viewed the domain in last 24 hours.

My site has been down quite often this past week and it is down once again right now.

Can you please look into it? I'm losing money every minute it isn't available.

Thanks

As of now the ulmb.com domain has been restored back in the internet root server zone file.

It may take a few hours to propogate to your isp.

There is still some issues not resolved with the problem registrar, hopefully the domain will stay up but i cannot guarantee it until the transfer to the new registrar is completed.

My domain still isn't working (tspree15.ulmb.com)

Any idea when this should be up?

Thanks

It works for me, like i said the domain is back in the internet root zone file.
It depends on how long your isp caches for and when they get the new zone from the root servers.

Running this command on your pc might help (needs to be in admin mode if your on vista).
ipconfig /flushdns
Restart your browser.

You could also try alternate hostnames such as www.tspree15.ulmb.com

Same deal here. Cannot access my control panel or my site. I tried the /flushdns command, but no luck. The odd part is that I can access the site from work computer, but not at home or at my parents place. I've reset my modem and router. Anything I should try?

Tyler

You visited the site and cached the DNS when there were problems with it at one of the locations but not the other.

I cannot access my site either and tried the /flushdns command

Are things running properly again?

Not complaining or anything but why is unlimitedmb having so many issues as of late ? For the past 3 months been having alot of site downtime and such.

Thanks , xst

Again not complaining a simple question..

I used to co-own a site with a friend on ULMB and they never seemed to have downtime. This is my first major encounter with downtime. However, I am glad you fixed it in a day.

Mine is still not fixed. If Eric or Tyler could give me a clue as to why I have had alot of these issues lately I would appreciate it.

Again thanks guys for the support and service.

This issue is unrelated to the previous downtime.

Our registrar (directi/resellerclub) suspended ulmb.com because of a complaint about content hosted on one of our members websites, they didnt give us any notice.

We have initiated a transfer to another registrar which is known to not suspend domains, so this particular issue will never happen again.

Not sure what you mean by "the past 3 months", we had an issue last week with the dns server which was a configuration error, prior to that there has been no downtime apart from an occasional 1-5 minute server reboot.

Particularly uptime for september was 100% which i have monitored with siteuptime.com

So you are in the middle of this transfer now then? Perhaps I missed it, but what is the timeframe to finish the changeover?

Thanks!

I don't pay attention to exact months or such. Although I should. Next time it's down I will do what I should and post the issue to better help. Thank you for not taking me as complaining and and giving a understanding answer.

The transfer itself will not cause any downtime.

The domain is already back working, and will stay working before, during, and after the transfer.

The reason some of you cannot access the domain is because your ISP's nameservers have cached the invalid record which our registrar changed without our permission. The cache will expire probably within the next day.

This is the way DNS works, responses are cached by each nameserver the request passes through.

So it will take about 2 days (from the time it was fixed, about 1 day remaining) until the whole internet has the up-to-date correct dns information, and not a cached failure.
