well i know hits mean someone has visited your site.... will i have 36000 hits or something since Saturday and 10 k page views
. are these random people browsing the site? if so why arnt anyone joining. and how are they finding out about it?

Its explained on http://account.ulmb.com/stats/

Hits = All requests including html, php, images, downloads etc...
Pageviews = Requests for html and php pages only.
Unique = Unique hits from the same IP within a 24 hour period.

When trying to see how many people viewed your site look at Unique.

Possibly my use of "Hits" in the stats is misleading, perhaps it should be changed to "Requests".

Hits shown in the stats is the total number of file requests.

ie. if you have a html page with 10 images, someone viewing the page would generate 1 pageview, and 11 hits.

To get more detailed stats use google analytics.
