Sorry, we cannot do that, you shouldnt have any problems unziping it then uploading it. FYI: its not cPanel.

I know its not cpanel, im just used to saying that.

Also, im dissapointed to hear I cant do that. I really dont want to have to upload 200 files into their correct folders. Is there anything I can do? If not, I will probably switch hosts (Im sorry to say that).

Download a FTP program and press upload, everything will go into the same file directory as they are on your computer.

i don't get it. i've seen others gripe about not being able to unzip files on the host because they dont want to upload several files. Are you guys using an FTP program? There are several to choose from, freeware & shareware alike. Bulletproof, cuteftp, wsftp and smartftp(free!) to name a few.
Then you just select all the files you want to upload and hit Go or upload and thats it, the program does everything for you. Walk away and make dinner or surf the web. It will upload all the files and put them in folders. Slicker than snot!
Besides what if you want to edit or customize one of those files? You;ll need to unzip it locally first anyways.
Plus you have full control over your files and folders to rename, delete, move, make directories etc and its faster than any web interface.
Get an ftp client, you'll be glad you did!

Ok, I downloaded SmartFTP, but how do I make it work? When I enter:

http://account.ulmb.com/login/?url=%2F

As my URL and I enter my login info, it says the URL is not supported.

Go to http://account.ulmb.com/sites/ and select your site, it will show you all of the FTP information for your account.
FTP Hostname: ftp.ulmb.com
FTP Username: your FULL username and domain
FTP Password:

Ok, I got all that. Now, I when installing the script I have to give the database host. I am used to just using localhost, but not sure if this will work. Can you tell me what the database host is.

Database host is mysql

Please read the welcome email, and the mysql screens properly.
It says there already the host is mysql when you create a database.

admins might want to think about the welcome email to *highly recommend* an ftp client for uploading multiple files. i know there's a line that says to check out download.com for one, but i guess ppl dont make it that far down the email.

any idea when we will be able to unzip files.
i have tried many ftp clients including filezilla cute ftp etc. when i have tried to install some cms systems they fail because certain file types are not allowed, i.e .map. i know i could rename files, but that could take a very long time.
any ideas of what else i can try:confused:

When/if we have unzip method it still will not allow blocked files.

If you want to request a file type be allowed please make a new thread and zip attach a sample file to the thread.

sorry for my late reply, so far i have managed to install Joomla, Phpbb without any problems throught ftp, so you can disregard my last post.
i think the filetypes that are not allowed are irrelevent anyway.

Sorry for bumping this up but will an unzip function be added to the site? I've never really had this before (not even on a paid host) so I'm just asking about it. :)

Sounds like a nice feature. I hate uploading around 2000+ files every time I need to upload something on dial up...
