An IP being blocked ?

I got this email from my game server.


The BMT is working, and that is the path and server ID code that I have in the BMT. Please contact your webhosting provider and see if they are block IP 69.65.25.116 from your account as that would be the only thing I can think of. I noticed on your site that the block is working, and the stats are saying No data sent which leads me to think your webhost has blocked the ip in some form or fashion.




Can you tell me whats going on ?

Not really sure what your trying to do, but we have a firewall that blocks connections on ports other then 80 and ftp.

Well it would have happened in the last week. What am I trying to do ? Its a stats recorder for the game servers I run.

Well I still have no clue what your talking about. I know what a stats recorder is, but what game is this, what script are you using, where is it located, are you getting any errors, anything?

Without the info its like me asking you to calculate x+y=48349348 and expecting you to just know what values of x and y i am talking about are. (not a good chance)

However, it is likely that the script is blocked by the firewall, but because i dont know what the script is really doing, the internals, or any errors that your doing i have no clue.

(it is very unlikely that the IP is blocked, Eric deals with that though, however I wouldn't count on it being blocked.)

Like I said before they have worked for almost a year now and this has just happened about 6 days ago. So don't get how if it's a script your firewall doesn't like to use, why it never had any issues until now. Plus the Joint Ops stats are the same codings and everything, and they are still working fine. It's just the DFX stats that stopped. They are on separate servers unsure if that has anything to do with anything.. All I know is it's php files, and sql. Nothing fancy about it. Then again I'm no guru at this junk either.. Hope that helps some. Will talk to them and try to see what they say. Ohh and no errors other than it not working. All worked forever just fine and I wake up one day and they stopped. Nothing was added, deleted, or edited on the site or databases either.

You can only make external connections on port 80 (http) for the purposes of RSS, any other use is not allowed.

This has been blocked since the beginning.

When we upgraded php 2 months ago it was mistakenly unblocked, this was corrected again last week.

Then how was it "AWAYS" working then, if it had always been blocked ? I mean the answer doesn't answer how I have used this since I have had the website, even when it was free.

Like I said I have another game server with the exact same setup as the other.
Same in all areas except one is called DFX and the other is JO. So if it is blocked as you say then why does the other work ?

Maybe it has nothing to do with the blocking issue then.
It just seems that the timing is right.

We dont block any specific ip addresses, so if one works the other should work too.
