View Full Version : [Merged] vBulletin 3.7
Alright, well it's a little old now but I thought I'd bring the talk on over here. vBulletin 3.7 is almost going to be released. (Well not too soon but yeah here's a sneak peek.)

Looks really great and I can't wait until it's released.

I really like vB and all of the features. If you can honestly make something that is better then vB then you should be selling it.

Tyler, if you're willing, pay the $50 for the SMF Charter Member rank and see how much progress Simple Machines has made in 2.0.
Ugh... SMF...
I hate SMF. Don't know what it is about it, the feel of it I guess if that's even an answer, but I just never liked SMF...
I've seen their new release and I'm not impressed. Just doesn't seem worthy of a whole new set. (2.x)

SMF just isn't my type of forum script. Also lets not start arguing over which script is better. Everyone has their own opinion on things. Also my list of "favs" above doesn't put SMF at the bottom meaning it's got less features or something. It's just a list that shows which scripts I like best (top favorite going down).

SMF is not that good.
vBulletin 3.7 Beta 4 is awesome! I have it and it rules!
I am getting 3.7 Real Version whenever it is released!
I think its the best ever!

Is ULMB ever going to upgrade to vBulletin 3.7?
I think you should, it is better all around.
You should upgrade 3.6.8 to 3.7!

ULMB owns a valid vBulletin license, and we will upgrade once 3.7 goes gold.
I've already discussed this with Eric.

Okay great. I have Beta 4 which in my opinion, is really nice. I also have a valid one which is why I don't have Nulled vBulletin.
When it goes gold, get it!

Be sure to remind us when it does! I hold my own vBulletin license as well, yet I don't tend to hang around the member area often, only when I need to renew/upgrade a script.

That is exactly what I do. I rarely go into there, and I hate that everything costs money there.
And I will remind you most definently. It is awesome!

vBulletin sends an email whenever there is a new version.
We will not install beta versions, and will probably wait a while before upgrading to allow time for any vulnerabilities to be found.
One thing I hated about vB 3.7 is all the options in the AdminCP you had to go through... ugh... lol

I like the new features in 3.7, I just don't know how the whole Social Networking system is going to turn out. I can tell it is going to open another 'can of worms' in many other forums.
Well really IPB did all that first actually... (and to me it looks a lot nicer). So in a sense IPB is starting this Social Networking thing with forums. :p
I'm thinking vB right now just wanted to get the gist of things done for their forum. By 4.0 I think they'll have things looking a lot nicer and a lot better put together :)

well IPB is one of the biggest forum software back in the days it went downhill during p2p but IPB is one of the best softwares, however I found IPB skins messy

IPB was good when it was a free forum, but its not worth vbulletin style pricing.
If your going to pay that much might as well get the top product.
How often do you see a major big forum using IPB or the others, no, they all recognise vb as the leader.

Actually, most "major big forums" I see use remotely hosted software. ;)
