I think maybe you guys should make it so you can pay to have the file size limit off and file upload turned on.
I think that would nice.
And you guys would get money and we can pay for the file size limit to be gone.
But make sure you can pay through paypal tho, because i like paypal

We will have an option to pay for file size.
File upload i will see what we can do but i do not currently know of any solution to allow php uploads without opening up security holes.

Well, who would the security wholes be risking, the hosting company or the user?

The hosting company and the server.

I think it's a great idea, maybe an alternate for those who can't pay for it (any reason not really prefs) would be to e-mail something like your driver's liscence or maybe a $1.00USD to show that you are serious and will not abuse it.
If you do want to start charging for hosting upgrades what will the price be and will it be monthly or one time?
yea... share my driver's license and have it duplicated and spreaded all over america.

There is also the problem that we do not currently know any way of allowing file uploads on a per user basis, its either on or off for everyone.
Whats the big problem anyway, get your users to upload their avatars to imageshack.

Only problem is, seems a bit cheap as an admin of a forum to dissalow uploads. How come all other hosting companies manage to have file uploads on? They don't have any security holes.

We found a way, and allow php uploads now.
We also increased the file size limit to 2mb.

how about doing something like a referral scheme where if you refer say 5 people you get some extra privileges?

A referal thing would be nice, but 5 would be too small.
maybe people who wanted other extras could trade for space or bandwidth
i.e 1 gig less for 1 mysql or something along those lines
