This seriously is a problem, I don't have time sensitive data but I'm sure a lot of people do, the timestamp is four hours ahead of me EST and that's not cool.

Well then its a programming error on your end.
Our server is not using EST.
If you want to get the time in EST you are supposed to read the timezone using the appropriate php functions and make the conversion yourself.
This is the proper way to program in php, you should not just assume that a server will be set to the timezone you want.

Most servers are either EST or PST in my experience so having it GST is a little unusual. Plus you're Americans I figured you'd have it set to local time for you.
