Before you go adding a forum, you have to decide what forum script you will use.
The most popular paid scripts are: vBulletin (http://www.vbulletin.com/) & Invision Power Board (http://www.invisionpower.com/)
The most popular free scripts are: phpBB3 (http://www.phpbb.com/) & Simple Machines Forum (http://www.simplemachines.org/)
If you're going to go paid, go for vBulletin (http://www.vbulletin.com/). It's what we use for this forum, and it works flawlessly.
If you're going to go free, go for phpBB3 (http://www.phpbb.com/). Though SMF is good, it's been known to have quite a few exploits and vulnerabilities. Not to mention the interface is very foreign and uncomfortable. Take a moment to browse through the different sites, and make your decision based on what you feel would be the best, depending on the features included, simplicity, and the like.
Once you choose the one you'd like to install, follow the documentation on the author's site to proceed with uploading and installing the specific script. For your convenience, I have hyperlinked the URL of each author's site, over the name of their script.

Personaly, I would go with MyBB (http://www.mybboard.net/).
Its the easiest to use and I think has the most features. The brand new MyBB 1.4 is out and looks great as well as loads of new features!!!
If you want help installing it I would be happy to help. I have installed loads before now.

You will have to give us some more information than 'i click on one and i get error on it'. Cos thats not all that helpfull. Lol.
So you have uploaded all the files to the web server
Then you go to 'www.yourdomainname.com/forums/install' (Or were ever the forums are)
This should then bring up the installation for the whole of the forums.
