I have a domain registered through enom. I went in and selected custom DNS and then I added your guys name servers. The only thing I have in for entries are ns1.unlimitedmb.com and ns2.unlimitedmb.com.

I was able to successfully link the domain to my account and I was successfully able to upload smf 1.5, however when I go to open the index file I get error 404 file not found.

However if I log onto your ftp site I see the files there, but when I try to run them I get a message telling me I need to have php to run them.

What am I doing wrong?

You have not added any domains to your account.
You probably uploaded your files to the ulmb.com domain.
Add your domain in "My Websites" in the control panel.

I have been resetting the account trying again which is why you didn't see the domain added to "My Websites."

It is there now, the files are uploaded, and still getting error 404.

On the Enom side of things is there additional information I need to add other then just the two name servers?

Your domain is working fine.
I see SMF installer.

You probably are seeing 404 error from your old host.
Because you have not waited long enough for the nameservers to fully change over.
It takes 1-2 days.

Ok cool I'll wait the 2 days and see if that was all I needed to do, sorry for the bother this is all new to me :)

I'd check back hourly if I was you, it's just a question of time, all depending on your Internet Service Provider.

Mine for example, is instant in regards to things like this, yours, as Eric said could be anywhere between that and 2 days.
