Mail is acting odd

I've been using thunderbird for my ULMB mail and today it said that there were 4 new messages and it started downloading them, but it stoped at 62% on the first message.
I kept trying, and eventually opened outlook and it did the same thing.

Is there something wrong with the server today or is it just me?

ok, well i figured out part of the problem

The ulmb server is f'd up and timing out any and all connections.
Why? I have no idea. All I know is that the problem isn't on my end.

Any thoughts on the matter?

Ok, now the problem is even more odd.
I set up another email acct under my site which downloads messages just fine.
What the crap?

Mail over 32kb could not be downloaded.
The problem has been fixed.
