I just want to check on something. Every single post I've seen on here has has the admins posting very short, very unpleasant replies. If I get hacked, or my identity is stolen, is there no way to get in touch with someone here to get it straightened out?
If I hadn't read some positive things about unlimitedmb.com, this forum would have scared me away entirely. As it is, it makes me nervous.
Please explain what could/would be done in case of hacking or email/psswd theft.

Yes we do help if you get hacked.
But if you are careful there is no reason this would happen.
ULMB has never been hacked, only people gave someone their password or installed insecure scripts.

I'm not a real techy, so I don't know how to tell if a script is secure or not. Are there forums I haven't found yet that deal with those types of questions? Would I get at least a warning telling me that the script is bad (or whatever) and needs to be removed? I know just enough to get into trouble - I recently wrote a page using a free script for sorting a table. But I had permission to use that one. How do I know?

We have no way of knowing if the scripts your using is insecure so we do not send warning or do anything about it. All you need to do is always update when a new version comes out.

The best suggestion I could really give you is to research any scripts you install. Do an extensive search on Google to see if there are a lot of people who have experienced problems with the script, then see if the bugs were fixed or not. If the script doesn't look like it has very much work being put into it then it is probably not a very up-to-date script and could be loaded with security flaws.

Hello,
Our administrators are not trying to be rude or unpleasant. Sure, much of the time they are straightforward and to the point, not saying more than what has to be said, but it isn't out of anger or hate.
As you can imagine, we're all busy with real life situations, we do our best to visit the forums often to answer the questions of our customers, and at times we simply don't have the time to be writing a very long reply. Our main goal is getting the answer to the customer, or getting the issue(s) resolved. You may have noticed comments from many members with something along the lines of "Fast Reply!" or "Quick Support!", because fact of the matter is, we try hard to help our customers on an ASAP basis, faster than any other professional hosting company would or could ever be.
If you have suggestions, you're welcome to post them in our Feedback and Suggestions (http://forum.unlimitedmb.com/forumdisplay.php?f=18) forum, where you can be sure it will be taken into consideration.
Warm regards,
