Ok so a forum that i currently run uses a mysql database provided to me via my account here. We are currently going through changing forums from a "simple machines forum" to a "Phpbb 3.0" forum. Now i am wanting to keep the same members and posts on this new as i have on my current forum. When i went through the procedure of installing the phpbb 3 forum i inputted all the details that i have previously used to connect to my database on my old forum and for some reason it doesn't let me. Am i doing this the correct way or am i missing something? Surely its just a case of inputting the username, database name and password and it should connect. When i create a new database it connects straight away.
Oh and sorry if this is in the wrong forum as i wasn't sure where this was supposed to go.
