Hello all,

I apologise in advance if this question has been answered elsewhere. Please redirect me if so.

I have registered here and uploaded MyBB 1.4.4. I have never done this before and haven't a clue what to do next. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I'm trying to upload a plug-in file to my MyBB Forum files. The instructions for installation are:

# Upload ./inc/plugins/seta.php into your ./inc/plugins/ folder
# Go to your PluginManager and Activate the "Send Email To Admin" Plugin.

I downloaded the zip file from the source and expanded it. I found the file and tried to upload it but in the process the file was renamed with "[1]" following the file name and it does not appear in my forum's Plug-in Manager window. I can't see a way of renaming the file within the ULMB file manager and I don't understand why it's renaming it.

I'm sure it must be something I'm doing wrong, but I dont have the knowledge or experience to see what. I would be very grateful if anyone could help me.

Jacqui

I apologise for the multiple posts. There was quite a time interval between them. Two of the posts were to say that I had solved the problems to save members the trouble of an explanation I no longer needed. The other was a separate problem, which I should have placed in a different thread.

In my defence, on other forums I participate in there is a time limit for editing and I assumed I would be outside that.

I'll do better. :)

Thanks court, I did understand. Honestly. Now that I know there's no time limit on edits, I'll do that in future.

I appreciate the warning. I don't want to get myself thrown out. :)

Get ready. You're going to laugh. The International High IQ Society.

There's a time out to stop us editing stuff to mess with each other, I think.

I think I may need to resign on the grounds that I'm not smart enough to read the instructions. :D

I meant from the International High IQ Society lol - but I'm glad I can stick around here. It's been a great help for me setting up a simple private forum for a small group of professionals. It's not something I've ever done before.

Thanks for your welcome advice. J
