View Full Version : Norton reported phishing attack
I have users of my site who report that their Norton software reporting my Demo/help site as 'unsafe' because of a phishing attack from that internet address. This may put visitors off viewing my site.
Others are saying that it is due to a site for the Bank of America.
If you read this thread (http://forums.serif.com/showthread.php?t=61150) from a forum I use.
Don't know if you at ulmb.com can help?

We will contact norton about it.
Best thing is to use your own domain name because norton blocks entire ulmb.com domain if there is one bad site.
Hi Eric
Yes as you say if there is one bad site, Norton will report all from that domain. Having your own domain will stop this?

Yes, if Norton blocks *.ulmb.com if you have dond.com then it would be a different domain.

Norton has already removed the block for ulmb.com
We have already taken action to ensure this does not happen again.
Hi Eric
Thanks for your prompt actions, I will check this out and let you know if there are anymore problems.

Hi
Again I'm getting a threat warning from Norton - for this site this time http://radiohabbo.ulmb.com/index.html - When going tho this site a warning from Norton takes over the page and says " it's a known fraudulent site" and blocks access.

That looks like a phishing web site. What are you doing with that page?
Hi Tyler
I'm not doing anything with this page. When I look through Nortons threat warning report this is the site that it says is the problem.
If it's a phishing site hosted on your server have you not a duty to close it down?

Its already closed, why are you trying to access that site?
As I have already said this sites address was in the report from Norton, when I received the warning from Norton when accessing my site, and I was just inquisitive as to the site but on access was blocked by Norton.
I was just just trying yet again to get the Norton warning, when a visitor accesses my site, to not come up and not to alarm them when it's not my site that's the problem but another that you may be hosting.

Can you take a screenshot of what you see when trying to access your site?
