I have managed to install WordPress, but it can't use permalinks. Any solution?

No idea what wordpress or permalinks is.
If you have a problem with someone elses product please post in their forum.
Wordpress is a blog script but I don't know how permalink work.

WordPress is a Blog application, running PHP.
Permalinks refers to clean URLs, e.g., an article with the link at http://www.xxx.com/p?123 can be renamed as http://www.xxx.com/my-article/
This requires the use of .htaccess, I think.

Its not possible to do that.
Theres no reason anymore to use these "clean links" all major search engines (google, yahoo, msn etc..) can already recognise urls with the ? symbol.
