Im having trouble installing a PHPBB forum on my webpage, i uploaded the phpbb2 folder to my ftp address using filezilla. and i edited the config file like a tutorial said I should. but now when i try to do the install, i get the phpbb install screen but its just lines of php script. Can someone help me solve this problem please. its really frustrating, being as this is my first attempt at this, sorry im a n00b :(.
Did you have to CHMOD any directories or files? I would imagine you would have to do the Install folder if its an automated installation.

You dont need to chmod anything.
Please post the errors you get or a link to the page... otherwise it is hard for us to help you.

Then tried to install by selecting the install.php file in the install directory and essentially got this

You cant do it via FTP... you need to do it via http: http://ecc4lyfe.ulmb.com/phpBB2/install/install.php
Make sure you delete that file when your done!

Because your downloading the file with ftp.
You use the HTTP link to run the php.

i have to run the install file from the file manager instead of the ftp, is that what you are saying?
Your FireFox is bug...Use Internet Explorer
Then go to your install directory again which is Tyler posted
After that fill them up, once your done installing delete the folder Install and Contrib from your FTP
