Following the post below, the upload limit is supposed to have increased to 500kB by Eric.

http://forum.unlimitedmb.com/showpost.php?p=2462&postcount=12

Today, I tried uploading a couple of pictures, it seem that anything beyond 200kB was not possible.

Have you changed that limit? :(

The upload limit is 500KB.
This can be confirmed by looking in phpinfo.

Hi Eric,

Thank you for the reply.

Sorry for the trouble again.
You are right. The limit is 500kB, I realised it was another problem while uploading it, not the file size limit

While using WordPress, i got this information:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 3336 bytes) in /hosted/subs/ulmb.com/k/e/keith/public_html/wp-admin/admin-functions.php on line 724

The file size I was uploading is 215kB. During the process, the PHP will modify the uploaded image into smaller size thumbnail, but it is unable to do proceed because of memory size limitation.

Do you see what is wrong (or has gone wrong) here??

Keith

That is the default php memory limit, if you hit that (8mb) then its crazy, that is a ton of memory for one script to be using. It wont be increased.

I did not know this.
I am an Author of The Altra32 Project which is a versatile Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for Assembler Programming. It has been written for MASM and features a number of advanced programming facilities. These include project management, application wizards, and a powerful source editor with source browsing and syntax highlighting. An effort to marry the flexibility and power of text-based command-line tools with the ease-of-use of the Windows GUI graphical user interface.

It comes in 2 type of downloads a zip file, which is 4,899,753 bytes
and an install exe package which is 5,064,615 bytes

So this means I can't offer my program which is what my site is about.
My self I write Windows programs as well as php scripts which I am
currently working on a php script called cPanel Clone. which you
can checkout here: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Anyways, that script when I get it done I want to offer it and I know
even ziped it will be 8MB

Is it really so bad to have 8 to 10MB limit as that is way far enough?
I wish you would consider this option.

No, we will not have a 8 - 10 MB file size limit. Use a file hosting service like http://www.fileoverload.com if you want to host files, we arent here to be your file host.

Tyler,
I am sorry, what you said was rude to me.
First off, I only need 2 files 4.8MB size and 5.06MB size
thats it, then my php scripts that make up my site ect.

I never said I wanted to host 5GB of large files.
infact I don't need more then 100MB for the whole site.

But like you said, I will do just that, I will leave and close out
my account, as I really have no use for 5GB nobody needs that.

5GB is (5,242,880,000) bytes your limit is 500KB (512,000) bytes
so you would have to upload 10,240 files. LOL

My site gets alot of hits, and I was going to put links to your host
on all 4 of my TLD's but after you accused me of wanting to be
some type of a space hog. So I feel it's time for me to fly....
I'v got to set my self free. LOL

We have the space restriction so we hope that you will have plenty of space to host anything you want, we dont want you to have to ask for more space, we hope that we have given you enough space as is. That is why it is soo high.

There isnt a way to let just you upload 2 large files, a file size limit is server wide and there isnt a way right now for us to change it for one person / two files. Therefore the service would be abused with 10 mb files. (you asked for 8 - 10 MB limit, not 4mb)

We have posted this hundreds of times already, if you would have searched the forum you would have found your answer without having to piggy back on an unrelated topic. (this topic is about php upload limits not file size limits)

We are a web host not a file host, its as simple as that, if you want to host large files there are tons of free file hosts out there. Their servers are setup to host large files and just that, ours are setup to host web sites and just that.

The file size limit is 2MB when uploaded using our file manager or FTP.

Files uploaded by through php in your account (eg. forum attachments etc..) is limited to 500KB.
