I just went to check it out. I can't find IPB providing free versions of their bulletin board.
azx, are you sure you read correctly? IPB is a much more enterprise-like than vBulletin. So, I doubt it's going to be free.

As hmm suggests, use SMF. It's free and it's highly secure.

Yea, I just converted a Ragnarok Online forum from IPB to SMF. I would have kept IPB, but the person that bought it didnt want us to continue using it.
If only i could get a working redirect mod for SMF.

redirection will probably slow down site access. it's best to start with a clean forum.

You can continue using IPB there nothing wrong with it. even if ur license expired u still can. even if its Trial. The License are only used for support from invision and get the latest security patch. if ur License expired then u cant get any support if u encounter any problem at ur forum or get the latest security fix.

I didnt buy it. He didnt want me using it anymore, so I just removed it, plus I didnt have his license key, so if anyone used the ipsclass check, it would have come up with 0000's or something like that. Then i could get reported or something.. Didnt need that.
Before I install vBulletin on my hosting account, would you like to see a copy of the license details ?

Thats not neccessary, we dont ask to see license details.
woah, this does not refer to having a link on the page hosted here to a forum elsewhere does it?
Its only concerning forums hosted by users on ulmb.com right?
