Skin Import

I'm trying to import some skins with IPB 2.1.6. Whenever I try to upload the file, I get the error No upload file was found and no filename was specified. Whenever I upload via FTP and enter the filename, a blank page loads. I know the skins work as I've tried them on my local test board.

Then how am I supposed to get custom skins installed? Do you expect me to manually create the row in the MySQL Database, upload all of the cache, and upload all of the images? That's a bit much.

Additionally, since PHP uploads aren't allowed, does this mean attachments can't be uploaded? I might have to switch hosts if I can't even have attachments!

First u cant use any illegal version of IPB...Dont say u bought it. Because it cost a lot more than paying a hosting site. and second there PHPBB there u can use that one and just use mods :P

Generally with phpBB you can upload the file into the templates folder.

Just because someone uses free hosting doesn't mean they won't pay for other online software. But agreed, not allowing php scripts to upload will be problematic for forum software.

PHP scripts will not be allowed to upload files.

Just turn off file attachments on your forum and problem solved.
