I tried to upload a .tar.bz2 file which was 1.9mb, and when I had finished, my ftp client said that there was a file size limit and that the file could not be uploaded. So, I just want to ask, is there a file size limit, or was my client just being weird? And if there isn't, does your file manager have the ability to unzip directories like .tar.bz2?

There is no other way. A 1.9MB file should not take 4 hours to unzip on your computer.

Notice the 'upload files with ftp' part? That's what takes so long. I'm serious, there's about 500 files in that directory, and they take ages to upload. I've tried it, believe me. Twice before. I'm not going through that again. So, I guess I'll just find a webhost who can cater to what people need more than restricting everything so their server doesn't crash.
(BTW, the best way for that to be prevented is to prevent auto-signup. But that's too easy, right?)

If you just uploaded it instead of complaining it would be done already :)
We will probably add an extract function to the control panel during the next upgrade but for now this is the only way.
4 hours to upload 2mb? hahaha.

No, there are too many things that this host doesn't support. I'm going to find one that I can actually use my php/mysql-powered scripts on, and not have to find ways around the features implimented in them.

You can't really complain about the hosting because it FREE, no other webhosting offers hosting like this for free, so if you don't like it go buy a host that accepts whatever you are doing.

Actually, I've got another host for another website I maintain for my school that gives 5 gigs and all the features of cpanel, including proper php support. I won't say because I'm not going to advertise a competing website, out of respect for ulmb, but I'll just say that it does exist.

1.zip the file(which you already did)
2.seprate the zip file, and connect them with PHP and use them... with out writing on server...
