Hi,
I belive that ULMB says that the Bandwidth Use resets back to 0 at the start of each month. In January my Bandwidth Use was 11.02 GB it is now 9th of Febuary and my account's Bandwidth Use has not reset back to 0 but just carried on increaseing to 11.49GB.
I thought that ULMB resets the Bandwidth Use each month?
Why has my Bandwidth Use not reset?
Thanks
Fraser (Freid001) :)

If I remember correctly, someone asked this question and it had to do with them having to go in and reset it by hand every month. 500gb should be hard to consume in 2 months.

Yes we manually reset it each month and sometimes forget to do it.
It doesn't matter about going over your limit, we do not monitor bandwidth usage, nothing will happen if you go over.

Oh ok! thanks very much. I thought the bandwidth was limited but if its unlimited thats great! Hope to upgrade soon! ULMB is so good! :)

Ok just a quick question. If you do not monitor bandwidth usage what is the diffrence between a tiny account 500.00 GB bandwidth and a Corporate account 5000.00 GB bandwidth?
If the badwidth is unlimited it would be really helpful if you could say so in the General Account Information column e.g. 13.63 GB / unlimited.
Thanks for your help

The tiny accounts have 5gb of web space, 3 databases, 3 domains, 50 pop mailboxes, mail forwarders and spam filters, and 2 sub users. The corporate accounts have 50gb of web space, 65 databases, 45 domains, 650 pop mailboxes, mail forwarders and spam filters, and 45 sub users BIG differences, even outside the bandwidth.

So there is no difference in bandwidth?

So there is no difference in bandwidth?
Fraser-
You made it clear in your post you understood that we have different bandwidth offerings for different account levels, and asked what the differences outside the bandwidth were. (You even posted the different bandwidth amounts)
What value do you want me to add by replying?
I can rephrase what has already been said:
Our accounts have different amounts of bandwidth offered depending on which account you pick. At this time we do not enforce those limits. At sometime in the future we might start enforcing them, but I highly doubt that. If we do, obviously we would make sure that the bandwidth stats are reset each month.
It is very unlikely that you will hit the bandwidth limits, 500GB is alot of bandwidth, 5,000GB is even more. You have used 9gb
I can put a flag on my calendar to make sure I check just your account each month for overages and suspend you if you go over, but I'm not sure that would be good. Thoughts? Are you ok with us not monitoring the bandwidth?
I looked into your account while I was writing this post and noticed that you are running a MMORPG on our servers.
You are not allowed (http://forum.unlimitedmb.com/showthread.php?t=2172) to run any multiplayer games which make use of PHP and MySQL on our servers. Please ensure this is removed within 48 hours or I will be forced to suspend your account.

Ok thanks that has cleared up a lot of confusion thank you. Sorry but I was just getting confused but from what I understand you set bandwidth limits but dont enforce them but may in the future. Sorry for any confusion but this has cleared it up thanks a lot. I am fine with you not monitoring bandwidth I was just getting confused with what you were all say but I under stand now. As for my account the MMORPG is part of my IT A level project I will download a backup tonight and remove it if I must but I really like ULMB as a host and need this site for my A level cource work! If I upgrade my account will you allow me to keep the site on the ULMB server?
Thanks so much for your help it has cleared up a lot of confusion thank you!
I am sorry if I have caused you any inconvenience.

Quote from http://forum.unlimitedmb.com/showthread.php?t=3558&highlight=MMORPG
"Depending on what game it is, some either bypass the advertising and others are very very abusive to the server. (most likely the second one)"
Well first of all let me say that none of my PHP code will bypass any advertising and if any has I am happy to pay for hosting in the future. Secondly read the terms of use (http://www.europeanwar.ulmb.com/Terms2.html) to my site no player is allowed to be abusive to any other player, they must be at least 13 years of age to join, they cannot use any cheats, exploits, bots, hacks, or any kind of third party software, Players cannot upload or transmit harmful or malicious programs, software, viruses, keylogger programs, files or other computer code designed to interfere or collect data, will be result in players being banned from the game and accounts terminated. If you are that worried about this I can make you a admin in the game which will allow you to ban any player in the MMORPG that breaks any terms from ULMB or European Warfare.
Thanks and again I am sorry if I have caused you any inconvenience. I hope to hear from you soon to finalise if I have to take my site off the server or not. Please reply in the next 24 hours cos I don't want to get banner.

The scripts themselves are abusive by their own nature. We dont care what the users do with them (as long as it is legal) and doesnt negatively affect the server.
They make very rapid and constant connections to the database servers causing them to be overloaded. Our servers are designed for general websites, not web games.

Right ok well if its ok with you I will leave the site up untill I can find another host and I will then remove the web site from your server. Hopfully with in the next few days.
Thanks :)

Do you know of any other free hosting sites that will allow MMORPG's on there server? Also you say "very rapid and constant connections to the database servers causing them to be overloaded." Surly a bandwidth limit would prevent that? But I understand if you want me to remove the web site as I said in my previous post. If it is ok with you I would like to leave the site on your server until I can find a new host that will accept my website. (I will close the game to avoid any overloads on your server) Are you ok with that? I would just like to keep the files on your server just so I can have a back up till I can find a new host.
Thanks

The server abuse is to the CPU and RAM, neither have anything to do with bandwidth/data transfer to and from the server.
You need to remove it from our server today. You are already past the time I gave you originally.

Is it not ok to leave it on your server just for a few days while I find a new host. I have closed the site so users can not login and use the scripts so there will be no server abuse! I just would like to leave them on here just for a few days as a back up.
Thanks
