Default Telnet

i cant seem to telnet into the ulmb servers to transfer my vbulletin database to a new host

how do i telnet into them to do it? if its not allowed how will i have to do it as vbulletin support say i need to telnet into the server

Telnet is not allowed and never will be.

they have specifically told me to use telnet

You can backup your database with phpmyadmin.

Really they shouldnt tell you to use telnet, very few hosts offer it, and its usually expensive.

Are you moving your database here from somewhere else? or you moving to another host away from here? if so then why?

were moving the forum to a dedicated host, the service here as been fantastic

i will still keep my other popular sites on the payed hosting package we have here tho

do you allow ssh ? as they are now telling me to use ssh

ssh is same as telnet but with encryption, same as http to https.
Its not allowed either.

Is there a reason why you did not like my suggestion to use phpmyadmin?
