start making a game i have only just started.

I really can't see any kind of game being made with HTML alone, so I'd say learn some JS (Not recommended by me), and some PHP.

You'll find good starter information at http://www.w3schools.com/ just take the time to look.

Well if it's a standalone type of game then maybe C++; a website-integrated game might be worth using flash.
